Citizenship Committee tables report
Reclaiming citizenship for Canadians: a report on the loss of Canadian citizenship
"We continue to emphasize the pressing need for a new citizenship act that will reflect our modern values and simplify the task of determining who is a citizen.
"Specifically with regards to simplification, we advise that determining citizenship should be as easy as possible. References to a former law should not be embedded into the new law. A person should not be required to prove facts about his or her ancestors, other than parents, in order to determine the persons own citizenship status."

In the 25th Anniversary Year of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Telegdi Introduces Private Member's Bill to Create Charter Day
Ottawa: Andrew Telegdi today introduced his Private Member's Bill C-485 in the House of Commons that would make every April 17th "Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms Day" -- a day to promote and celebrate the word and spirit of the Charter.
